The Cohousing Game

The Cohousing Game is a gamified instrument for the collective elaboration of agreements and rules of coexistence between residents of a shared housing, developed in collaboration with FICA and the Compartilha project.

It is a tool that encourages self-management, social cohesion and presents conflict resolution methods and coexistence practices. Through the dynamics facilitated by the Game, a group of residents is able, in a few hours, to discuss different elements regarding the sharing of a house.

Through the Game process, residents can get to know each other better, creating relationships of understanding, empathy, autonomy and trust by encouraging individual positioning and listening. In addition, the Game proposes to introduce a reflection on forms of sharing and housing, presenting different practices.
The Game consists of a deck of 54 cards, divided into three categories:
- There are three structuring cards - consensus, uncertainty and mediation - that form the basis of the game.
- 48 green back cards, of which 6 are situation cards, 4 are wild cards and 38 are topics for agreements and rules definition.

- Finally, the game features 3 depolarizing cards, which suggest dynamics to facilitate complex discussions.
